Type locality. Chapada, Brazil.

Remarks. The species was reassigned to Tibicen Latreille, 1825 without comment by Metcalf (1963). It was then assigned to Diceroprocta Stål, 1870 based on a specimen that lacked an abdomen when the genus Tibicen was split into several genera (Hill et al. 2015). However, the species was then assigned to the genus Guyalna (Sanborn 2015) based on the three part tarsi and large, curved timbal cover seen in the complete syntype (CMNH) that distinguish it as a member of Guyalna (Fig. 23). Body length 16 mm, fore wing length 21 mm (measured from image of syntype).

Distribution. Specimens have been reported only from Brazil (Uhler 1903).
