Nardus aristata Linnaeus, Species Plantarum, ed. 2, 1: 78. 1762, nom. illeg.
"Habitat Romae." RCN: 446.
Replaced synonym: Nardus incurva Gouan (1762) .
Type not designated.
Current name: Psilurus incurvus (Gouan) Schinz & Thell. ( Poaceae).
Note: Specific epithet spelled “aristatus” in the protologue.
Stace & Jarvis (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 91: 441. 1985) noted that this is an illegitimate replacement name, published in September 1762, for Nardus incurva Gouan (Hort. Reg. Monsp.: 33. Apr 1762). Linnaeus cited the latter as a synonym of N. aristata (Sep 1762) in the Appendix to Sp. Pl., ed. 2, 2: 1676 (1763).
