Remarks. The lectotype of Chiloneus ottomanus is 5.94 mm long. The moderately large, slender and elongate brownish body with sparsely punctured pronotum make this species very similar to C. brevithorax . From C. brevithorax it is distinguishable by small teeth on all femora, inner elytral intervals with piliform appressed setae and funicle segments 6 and 7 transverse.
