Type material examined. 2 exx. Syntype (NHM): card-mounted, “3422” [in Broun’s hand], “New Zealand. [red underline] \ Broun Coll. \ Brit. Mus. 1922-482.”, “Otira. \ Jany. 1911” [in Broun’s hand], “ Mesocyphon \ longicornis ” [in Broun’s hand]. Syntype (NHM): card-mounted, same label data as above.

Remarks. Broun (1914a) studied two specimens collected from Otira Gorge, received from H. W. Simmonds.
