The Prionocyphon storeyi- group
In members of this group the terminal portion of the ejaculatory duct forms an eversible endophallus densely packed with large spines. Separation of the tegmen, parameres and penis was cautiously attempted but these parts seem to be quite firmly connected. Therefore, they remain superimposed in the slides. Virtual separation was attempted on digital photographs, with limited success, as details of structure are not fully known. From the original description, P. quasichameleon Watts belongs here. Its tegmen plus parameres seem to form a spacious capsule around the penis. The same is also true of several species in the P. bidentatus group (below).
