Remarks: Female (only sex known) medium-sized (body length 74 mm); unarmed, slender and long, only with a few small granules; with distinct needle-shaped preopercular organ on posteromedian area of seventh sternum; anal segment with a small emargination on posterior margin; all legs smooth and without serrations as far as known (forelegs are missing). Based on the adult morphology, Pachymorpha arguta belongs to the genus Neomedaura, rather than in Pachymorpha and the species is here transferred to Neomedaura in a new combination.
Similar species: The species is closely related to N.yokdonensis Ho, 2020, but can be distinguished by the female of with distinct needle-shaped preopercular organ on posteromedian area of seventh sternum. In N. yokdonensis the female has a distinct horn-like preopercular organ on posteromedian area of seventh sternum.
