Type Locality: Panamá, Chiriquí Prov., Volcán de Chiriquí, 11,000 ft (3353 m).

Vernacular Names: Talamancan Harvest Mouse.

Distribution: Upper elevations, 1300-3350 m, in the Cordilleras Tilarán, Central, and Talamanca, Costa Rica, to Chiriquí region, W Panamá.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Subgenus Aporodon, tenuirostris species group. See Hopp and Rogers (1994, Mammalian Species, 482).
