Oxymycterus caparoae Hershkovitz 1998, Bonn. Zool. Beitr., Vol. 47: 244.

Type Locality: Brazil, Minas Gerais State, Parque Nacional de Caparaó, Arrozal, 2400 m.

Vernacular Names: Mt Caparao Hocicudo.

Distribution: Humid montane forest and secondary vegetation, 1800-2700 m, E Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo to Rio de Janeiro, SE Brazil (see Bonvicino et al., 1998 b).

Discussion: A medium species similar to O. paramensis and O. nasutus; level of differentiation from latter should be reevaluated in the context of a full generic revision.
