Type Locality: Perú, Cuzco Dept., Huadquiña, 5000 ft (1524 m).
Vernacular Names: Slate-bellied Akodont.
Distribution: E Andes of SE Perú.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Subgenus Akodon . Retained as a species by Reig (1987), Myers (1989), and Hershkovitz (1990 c), but considered a possible synonym of A. aerosus by Patton and Smith (1992); reconciliation of these differing treatments needed.
