Type Locality: Georgia (Gruzinskaya), Caucasus Mtns, Gudaur, S of Krestovyi Pass, 6500 ft (as given by Ognev, 1963 b) .

Vernacular Names: Long-clawed Mole Vole.

Distribution: Alpine zone of Caucasus Mtns, Georgia, and extreme NE Turkey (E Black Sea Mtns; Kryštufek and Vohralík, 2001).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
