Type Locality: Perú, Loreto Dept., Balta, 300 m; 10°08'S, 17°13'W.
Vernacular Names: Peruvian Ichthyomyine.
Distribution: Known only from two localities in lowland E Perú (see Pacheco and Vivar, 1996; Pacheco et al., 1993).
Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.
Discussion: Described as a form of Daptomys and maintained as a species by Voss (1988).
