Type Locality: Chile, Chiloé Prov., south end of Isla de Chiloé, mouth of Río Inio.

Vernacular Names: Sanborn's Akodont.

Distribution: S Chile and possibly adjacent Argentina.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc) as Akodon sanborni .

Discussion: Perhaps conspecific with A. longipilis, a possibility that requires formal documentation (see Pearson, 1995; Pine et al., 1979).
