Calyxochaetus fortunatus species group

Diagnosis. The C. fortunatus species group is defined by males having fore tarsomere 1 very short, a swollen fore tibia (Figs 82–86), and fore tarsomere 2 with slender distally directed anterior seta near apex (Fig. 83). Males have the posterior wing margin weakly to strongly lobed and/or excavated (Figs 88–91) and with eyes contiguous or nearly contiguous (<1 ommatidium wide) below antennae. Females have a relatively narrow face that is subequal to postpedicel width. Scutellum without distinct blue-violet reflections (sometimes weakly blue-violet).
