Fig. 13 . Material .— One specimen ( PRI 80015 ) that is 8.5 mm across, from the Lomitos cherts, upper Oligocene , Talara Basin , Peru . Remarks .— Olsson (1931) reported “ Nerita ” from the deposits near Belén and Pajarabobo and from the Lomitos cherts, but he never illustrated them. We did not find any neritids in the field, but a single specimen was found on the back side of the rock containing the holotype of Solemya lomitensis , from the Lomitos cherts. The specimen has a typical neritid shape but because neither the external surface nor the aperture is preserved, we cannot determine this specimen any further.
