Kamiya, 1961 ]. Sasajiscymnus kuriharai Kitano, 2012: 225 ( type locality: Fushan , Taipei , Taiwan , China ). Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. hamatus ( Yu & Pang, 1993 ) in structures of the male genitalia, but can be distinguished from the later by its pronotum black with anterior margin narrowly yellowish brown (Figs 52a–b). In S. hamatus , pronotum is yellowish brown, sometimes with a black spot at base (Figs 51a–b). Description. TL: 1.17–1.92 mm , TW: 0.94–1.47 mm , TH: 0.58–0.95 mm . Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence (Figs 52a–c). Head yellow to black, interocular distance distinctly closer than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum black with anterior margin yellowish brown. Scutellar shield black. Elytra black with yellowish brown apices. Ventral surfaces black. Legs yellow to yellowish brown. Abdominal postcoxal lines almost complete (Fig. 52d). Male genitalia: Penis slender, penis capsule with long inner arm but without outer one, apex of penis pointed (Fig. 52e). Penis guide apically hook-shaped in lateral view; parameres about 1/5 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 5/ 6 in ventral view, then gradually narrowing to blunt apex (Figs 52f–g). Female genitalia: Coxites shortened; styli absent; spermatheca worm-like, with basal ramus and nodulus. Material examined. Distribution. China ( Guangdong , Guangxi , Hainan , Sichuan , Guizhou , Yunnan , Hongkong , Taiwan). Remarks. This specices shows sexual dimorphism in body colouration. In male, clypeus is yellow to yellowish brown, legs are uniformly yellow, and yellowish brown marks on the pronotum are much larger. In female, clypeus is dark brown, legs are yellow but with a large black marking on femur, yellowish brown marks on the pronotum are smaller. This species closely resembles S. langsonensis ( Hoàng, 1982 ) and S. longisiphonulus ( Hoàng, 1985 ) from Vietnam and they are possibly conspecific, but without the examination of the type specimens of these species, we treat them as valid species in the present study. Several individuals have complete abdominal postcoxal lines.
