Zeuxine sakagutii Tuyama (1936: 26)

Habitat: —Under forests at 200–1600 m.

Distribution: — CHINA: Taiwan ( Su 2000), Hainan ( Huang et al. 2012, Tian et al. 2012), Yunnan ( Xu et al. 2010), Guangxi ( Wu et al. 2011), Hong Kong ( Barretto et al. 2011b) and Guangdong ( Tian et al. 2012). Southern Japan, northeast India ( King & Pantling 1898) and Vietnam.

Notes: —Another species, Zeuxine clandestina Blume (1858: 70) , is extremely similar to Z. sakagutii , but without field observations and sufficient fresh materials, we hesitate merging Z. sakagutii under Z. clandestina . Meanwhile, Z. parvifolia ( Ridley 1903: 87) Seidenfaden (1978b: 82) , Z. gracilis ( Breda 1829: t. 9) Blume (1858: 69) and Z. affinis ( Lindley 1840b: 487) Bentham ex Hooker (1890: 108–109) are also similar to each other and often misidentified. This whole complex needs to be studied further.
