Zethus schadei Bohart & Stange, 1965: 14 View in CoL (nest, figs 4B, C), 17 (nest), 159 (key), 168 (fig. 156–158), 169 (male, female; in subgenus Zethoides ; Paraguay, Peru). Rasmussen & Asenjo 2009: 43 ( Peru). Pulgarín-Díaz et al. 2018: 1–3 (predator of pyralid caterpillar Hypsipyla grandella View in CoL ; misidentification, not Z. schadei View in CoL ).

Examined material. 7♀, 1♁ (see Supplementary Material 1). PERU : 1♀ (paratype), Junín, Valle Chanchamayo [ BME] . BRAZIL: 4♀, Amazonas, Rio Puaquequara [ DZUP]; 1♁, Mato Grosso, Cáceres [ DZUP] . PARAGUAY: 2♀, Concepción, Estancia San Luis [ DZUP] .

Distribution. Peru, * Brazil (Amazonas, Mato Grosso), Paraguay ( Bohart & Stange 1965; and new data).

Observations. Díaz et al. (2018) reports Z. schadei as a natural enemy of a pyralid caterpillar. However, the image presented in the article certainly does not represent this wasp species. Identity cannot be certified, but apparently it belongs to the Z. biglumis species group and perhaps it is Z. biglumis Spinola, 1841 itself.
