Lychnophoriopsis unicaulis Glaziou (1909: 379) , nom. nud.
Distribution and habitat: — Brazil (Minas Gerais, endemic from the Serra do Cipó). Campo rupestre; 1000–1500 m.
Taxonomic notes: —Easily recognized by its treelet habit and short leaves with obtuse to rounded apices. Phylogenetic analysis indicates a close relationship with Prestelia and more distantly with Lychnocephalus ( Loeuille et al. 2015b) , however Lychnophora damazioi differs sharply from these two genera by its lack of syncephalia and pedunculate capitula.
