Valenciennea parva Hoese & Larson 1994 —Ladder goby

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken east of Nago Island, Kavieng District, at 2–9 m depth, St. KR28, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Seychelles and Maldives east to Samoa, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found on clean sand near coral heads, 1– 20 m depth. Marine.
