All setae smooth.
Peritreme — Extending almost to j1.
Venter — Sternal shield with tridentate median lobe on posterior margin. Distances between St1–St3 75(70–78), St2–St2 76(70–78), St5–St5 83(77–93). Ventrianal shield lightly sclerotized anteriorly, 125(120–130) long, 64(59–72) wide at level of Zv2 and 83(67–90) wide at level of anus, with a pair of elliptical pores posterior to and slightly mesad of Jv2. Two pairs of metapodal shields; caudoventral setae smooth and sharptipped.
Chelicera — Movable digit 39(38–40) long, with 4 to 5 teeth; fixed digit 37(35–40) long, with 11 teeth and a discernible pilus dentilis.
Spermatheca — Calyx tubular, bulged near atrium, medially slender and flared distally, 44(35–51) long; atrium distinct.
Legs — Macrosetae sharptipped; Sge I 48 (40–53), Sge II 43 (35–48), Sge III 50 (43– 58), Sti III 46 (38–54), Sge IV 83 (74–95), Sti IV 72 (64–78), St IV 89 (82–95). Chaetotaxy of genu III: 12/0,2/11.

Peritreme — Extending almost to z2.
Venter — Ventrianal shield subtriangular, with transversal striae anteriorly and constricted at anus level; 106 long, 158 wide at the anterior corners; with 3 pairs of preanal setae, 4 pairs of lyrifissures (1 anterior to Jv1 and 3 anterolateral) and a pair of elliptical pores posterior to and slightly mesad of Jv2.
Spermatodactyl — Shaft 26 long.
Legs — Macrosetae sharptipped; Sge I 32, Sge II 30, Sge III 38, Sti III 34, Sge IV 56, Sti IV 42 and St IV 58. Chaetotaxy of genu III same as in female.

ETYMOLOGY — This new species is named after Eddie A. Ueckermann, eminent South African acarologist.
REMARKS — The spermatheca of this species strongly resembles the type mentioned by Chant & McMurtry (2005a) as typical for most of the Ueckermannseius species then known. In one of the type specimens, one of the spermathecae ( Figure 21 View FIGURE 21 C, left) is similar to the type, mentioned by Chant & McMurtry (2005a); the other spermatheca of the same specimen and the spermathecae of other type specimens correspond with Figure 21 View FIGURE 21 C (right).
Ueckermannseius saltus resembles this new species, but it has shorter j1 and Z5, longer j3, much shorter macrosetae on legs, no macroseta on leg I. Ueckermannseius aequidens is also similar to this new species, but it has much shorter j1, shorter peritreme (extending between j1 and j3), much shorter macrosetae on legs and no macrosetae on tibiae III and IV.
