Differential diagnosis. Body size 18.5–24 mm; color copper, bronze or with bluish tinge ( Figs 29–32 View FIGURES 29–36 ).
Apical half of elytra without any trace of punctures, completely smooth, with setigerous pores only, strongly convex; apex of aedeagus moderately down curved ( Fig. 116 View FIGURES 112–129 ). Endophallus ( Figs 33–36 View FIGURES 29–36 ), protuberances: VB large and moderately protruding; DB relatively small, smaller than D; D large, unusually shaped, with two small, laterally protruding horns; V large; DA short; VA large, conic in apical half.
Comments: Type of T. ventricosa was not found in MNHU and is apparently lost (Bernd Jaeger pers. com.). A neotype is designated herein.
Distribution. Philippines, endemic on Luzon ( Map 1 View MAP ). Known from the mountainous regions of northern part of the island. The single collection site from Lohong needs confirmation.
