Abbreviated Description. Indumentum of short pubescent simple basifixed hairs, leaflets dimorphic, 5–9 with 1–3 pairs of greatly reduced caducous leaflets near base of petiole, alternate or opposite, 9 × 3.5–12 × 4.2 cm, elliptic to oblong or oblanceolate, reduced basal leaflets linear, spathulate, ovate or reniform, inflorescence 11–15 cm long, a densely flowered thyrse, petals 4–5, 4.5–6 mm long, fused for 1/3–2/3 their length, valvate, appressed pubescent, filaments completely fused into a cylindrical staminal tube, alternate filaments shorter, staminal tube without appendages, anthers (7–)8–10, nectary obscure or absent, ovary densely tomentose, 3-locular, locules with 2 collateral ovules, fruit unknown.

Distribution & Ecology. Lowland and lower montane rain forest in Colombia (Atlántico, Bolívar, Cundinamarca, Cali, Magdalena, Sucre and Tolima), recorded up to 1000 m elevation.
