Type (lectotype here designated):—[ Morocco]: Ex regione superiori Atlantis Majoris in jugo Tagherot, alt. 2530–3630, 15-V-1871, J. Ball s. n. (K).

Nomenclatural notes:—We found one specimen collected by John Ball. Having no knowledge that this specimen was the only one on which Ball (1878) based the description of T. serpyllum var. atlanticus , this specimen is here designated as the lectotype of the name. It fits the original description and it is complete for the correct identification of the taxon.
