Description of Terrabacter ginsenosidimutans WM View in CoL 26

Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod shaped. Colonies are glossy, entire, smooth and pale yellow colored after 7 days on R2A at 25°C. Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis and β -galactosidase in API 20NE, but negative for indole production, arginine dihydrolase glucose fermentation, urease and gelatinase. Utilizes D-glucose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, D-maltose, potassium gluconate and malic acid, but not L-arabinose, N -acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, capric acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid. Strain WM26 (= NIBRBA 0000114440) has been isolated from a freshwater sample, Woopo wetland, Gyeongnam Province, Korea.
