Type locality: ‘les mers de Chine’.
Label locality: ‘ China Seas’.
Type material: Lectotype NHMUK 20140785/1 and 3 paralectotypes NHMUK 20140785/2-4 (H. Cuming collection). Indirect lectotype selection by inference of holotype ( Cernohorsky, 1969: 213).
Remarks: The specimen figured as ‘holotype’ in Bratcher & Cernohorsky, 1987: 64, pl.12, fig.39b is in fact the paralectotype NHMUK 20140785/2.
