Type locality. Tanzania, Rubeho Mts. at Ipondelo vil., S6.8389° E36.5756, 1875 m.
Description. Body larger (length of pronotum and elytra in dorsal view 3.4 mm, n=1); lateral body contour in dorsal view clearly constricted between pronotum and elytra; lateral sides of posterior half of pronotum and elytra at middle parallel; disc of pronotum not completely covered by dense whitish pilosity; procoxae separated by distance smaller than half their length; elytral punctures on striae large, about 0.2–0.5 of interstrial width; elytral interstriae with row of semi-erect setae shorter than width of interstriae; female genitalia: 6E–F; DNA: Table 2 View TABLE 2 .

Distribution. This species is known only from Rubeho, the southern part of the EAM.
Etymology. The species epithet is a Latinized Greek mythical name of Ogygia, an island of the nymph Calypso, who detained Odysseus for several years on his return voyage, and it is a noun in apposition.
