Type: — KAZAKHSTAN. Dzhungarskiy Alatau , bassein r. Koksu, lednikovye istoki r. Korzhun, po melkozemlistym mestam drevnikh moren vblizi sovremennykh [the Dzhungar Alatau, Koksu River basin, glacier sources of Korzhun River, shallow soil sites of old moraines in the vicinity of the current ones], 3300 m, 24 Aug 1948, V. Goloskokov ( LE, no. det. 6526, holotype; isotypes: LE, no. det. 17899, 17900) .

Description: —Plants 5–8 (–10) cm tall. Petiole pinkish green, narrow, long, ± unwinged; leaves mid-green, linear to linear-oblanceolate, 5–8 × (0.3–) 0.5–0.7 (–1.2) cm, glabrous, undivided, margin entire or with irregular short linear lateral teeth (1–3 on each side) or pinnatilobed; with 2 or 3 pairs of linear-triangular, to 5 mm long, usually subrecurved, entire lateral lobes; interlobes narrow, ± entire; terminal lobe linear-triangular, often elongated, base sagittate. Scapes brownish green, ± equalling leaves, glabrous. Capitulum ca. 1.5 cm wide. Involucre 6–7 mm wide, base ± rounded. Outer phyllaries 10–15, deep greyish green, not imbricate, narrowly lanceolate, outermost ones 5–6 (–7) × 1.3–2 mm and ca. 1/2 as long as inner ones, ± loosely appressed, with blackish middle line, the rest of the middle part from light greyish green to deep grey, border paler, narrow, sometimes indistinct, with blurred transition, usually ± sharply delimited and 0.1–0.3 mm wide, margin glabrous, flat to blackish callose below obtuse apex; inner phyllaries 1–1.2 cm, flat to callose below apex. Ligules yellow; outer ligules subtubular to canaliculate, outside striped ± black to pinkish black. Stigmas deep (pale brownish) yellow. Anthers polliniferous; pollen grains irregular in size. Achene light stramineous-brown with slightly greyish hue, ca. 4.7–5.4 × 0.8–0.9 mm; body ± smooth or apically with a few minute tubercles, cone not discernible; beak 4.9–5.3 mm, ± thick (0.25–0.3 mm). Distribution: —The geographical range of T. goloskokovii occupies the Dzhungar Alatau and the Zailiyskiy Alatau Range ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 , only specimens seen have been mapped). The literature record from the W. Xinjiang ( Zhai 1999) also may be considered as quite reliable.
