This species has been recorded in Northern Provinces of Iran from Alnus sp., Carpinus betulus (Betulaceae) , Fagus orientalis (Fagaceae) , Juglans regia (Juglandaceae) , Pyrus communis (Rosaceae) ( Modarres Awal 1997 as Taphrorynchus [sic] alni ). Elsewhere the species has been recorded only from Alnus glutinosa (Betulaceae) ( Pfeffer 1995). The range of hosts given suggests that the species has been misidentified.
