COMMON NAME (S): Gold Marbled Emperor or Edible caterpillar (“Kisansapelebele” in “Bemba” language in Zambia).
SYNONYM(S): Tagoropsis nzoiana Stoneham, 1933 ; Tagoropsis songeana Strand, 1911e .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Petauke in East Luangwa district, N.E. Rhodesia [N.E. Zambia], in Eastern Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Larval foodplants include one Sapindaceae species Allophylus africanus P.Beauv. ( Pinhey 1972b; African Moths 2019).
