12. Syzygium reticulatum (Wight) Walpers (1843: 179) View in CoL . = Eugenia reticulata Wight (1841: 16 ; 1842: 3, tab. 541). = Eugenia mangifolia Wallich ex Duthie (1878: 480) , nom. illeg. Lectotype (designated here):— INDIA. Assam: s.d., (Herb. Wight) W. Griffith 38 (MH00006622!; isolectotype K000793907!).

Distribution:— Bangladesh, Myanmar and India (Northeast Indian states).

Notes:— Eugenia reticulata was described by Wight (1841) based on the specimens collected from Assam, India by Griffith. One specimen collected by Griffith from Assam and included by Wight in his herbarium is traced at MH (MH00006622). The specimen at K of herbarium Wight (K000793907) is also original material because the collection number 38 is mentioned on the sheet like MH sheet. The MH specimen ( Figure 8 View FIGURE 8 ) is selected here as the lectotype because locality, collector name and number is annotated by Wight on the sheet. The specimens of Syzygium reticulatum collected by Griffith from Khasia, East Bengal at K (K000793908), L (L2508489) and M (M0171003, M0171004 and M0171005) are not original material because collected in year 1843 after publication of the protologue.
