Synodus bondi Fowler 1939

Extant specimens: MCUC ZOO.0000027 ( Fig. 18 ).

Classification on the specimen: None.

Common names on the specimen (Portuguese/Tupi): None.

Comments: This species was undescribed at the time Veloso prepared it. This species cannot be unequivocally attributed to any species in the Ajuda’s inventory ( Ferreira 1794), the transference lists, or in the Ichthyologia Fluminensis. This species occurs in the Western Atlantic from Nicaragua to southern Brazil ( Frable et al. 2013).
