Taxonomic notes. Described originally as a species of Korynia View in CoL , it was almost ignored subsequently. It is assigned here to Strigamia View in CoL for the first time (new combination), because it shares all major diagnostic features of Strigamia View in CoL . However, it could be a junior synonym of S. kerrana View in CoL , because the original descriptions of both species are fully consistent, the difference in the number of pairs of legs (39 in a female S. tripora , 45 in a female S. kerrana View in CoL ) being possibly due to interindividual variation, and the difference in the number of coxal pores (3 on each side in a 15 mm long S. tripora , 4 in a 20 mm long S. kerrana View in CoL ) being possibly due to changes with growth or individual variation.
Distribution: known from a single locality in the Sierra Nevada, California.
