Description of Streptomyces coelicoflavus MGS View in CoL 3Y-3-1

Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, entire, rough, raised and white colored after 3 days on MA at 30° C. Positive for esculin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, nitrate reduction and urease in API 20NE, but negative for arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase, glucose fermentation and indole production. N - Acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, L-arabinose, D-glucose, malic acid, D-maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose and potassium gluconate are utilized, but capric acid, phenylacetic acid and trisodium citrate are not utilized. Strain MGS3 About MGS Y-3-1 (= NIBRBA0000114269) has been isolated from Ginseng cultivated soil, Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, Korea.
