Type locality: the material comes from Espino Pond (“ Laguna de Espino ” is an old artificial pond that no longer exists), Los Rosales, Caracas, DISTRITO CAPITAL, Venezuela (GN 10º28’50” N, 66º53’57” W). The repository of the material is unknown GoogleMaps .
In Venezuela: corresponds to the type locality ( Claus 1892). Other locality: CARABOBO State — Las Trincheras , near Puerto Cabello (GN 10º18’21” N, 68º05’16” W) GoogleMaps .
Remarks: the variety has only been observed in Venezuela. Probably Karanovic (2012), when referring to S. bicuspis , actually refers to this variety recorded by Claus (1892).
