The karyotype of S. pindu is composed of 2n = 44 chromosomes including 12 m /sm and 32 st/t (FN = 56) (Tab. I).

The 18S rRNA genes are located on the short arms of a small acrocentric pair ( Fig. 2 View Figure 2 ).
