Chodat & Hassler (1905) based their description of Sapium salpingadenium var. salicina on two syntypes. The specimen Hassler 6346 deposited in G is selected as lectotype taking into consideration its compliance with the protologue and good conservation status, and also because this institution houses great parts of Hassler’s collections from Paraguay.
