Diagnosis. The male of this species differs from those of other species by having the gena well-developed ( Figs 5C, 5D View FIGURE 5 ); a large pterostigma, SMCs 2 and 3 small ( Fig. 5G View FIGURE 5 ); metasomal tergum I with a long and narrow petiole ( Fig. 5F View FIGURE 5 ); and metasomal sternum II without a transverse groove. FEMALE. Unknown.

Description. MALE (holotype). Length: body 2.7 mm; fore wing 2.6 mm. Mostly black ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ). Mandible yellowish-brown medially, brown apically. Palpi brown. Clypeus yellowish-brown anteriorly. Scape and pedicel brown dorsally, yellowish-brown ventrally. Flagellomeres I and II brown ventrally. Fore and mid tarsi brown. Wings not infuscate; fore wing with weak fuscous band on SMCs 2 and 3 and second discoidal cell anteriorly; pterostigma brown ( Fig. 5G View FIGURE 5 ).

Lower frons, pronotum and propodeum with weak gray pubescence. Body without setae, except for mandible with few pale setae.

Head and mesosoma matte, except for propodeum somewhat polished; metasoma distinctly polished. Head and mesosoma punctate. Frons, discs of pro-, meso- and metanota, and meso- and metapleura finely and densely punctate. Clypeus irregularly and finely punctate without smooth apical rim. Metanotum with deep transverse concavity laterally ( Fig. 5H View FIGURE 5 ). Metapostnotum with two fine transverse striae anteriorly. Disc of propodeum with punctures somewhat larger than those on disc of mesoscutum. Metasomal segments finely alutaceous without any punctures.

Head width in frontal view 1.1× length. UID: MID: LID = 28: 33: 25. MID 0.61× head width. Half of MID 1.6× eye width. Vertex in frontal view moderately convex between eye tops ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ). Upper frons gently convex ( Fig. 5E View FIGURE 5 ). Frons without frontal line. Inner orbits subparallel above, convergent below ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ). Ocelli large, noticeably raised; ocellar triangle hardly obtuse-angled ( Fig. 5C View FIGURE 5 ); POD: OOD = 1: 0.83. Posterior margin of vertex in dorsal view gently concave ( Fig. 5C View FIGURE 5 ). Clypeus width 2.3 × length, weakly convex medially; anterolateral corner rounded; anterior margin straight. Mandible with subapical tooth. Malar space short. Gena in dorsal view roundly receding ( Fig. 5C View FIGURE 5 ), its width in profile 0.65 × eye width ( Fig. 5E View FIGURE 5 ). Flagellum filiform; flagellomeres VII–X somewhat subangulate ventrally and weakly concave dorsally; scape, pedicel and flagellomeres I–IV in ratio of 10:5:13:13:12:12; flagellomere I length 2.8× width, 0.5× UID.

Pronotum with anterior declivity distinctly differentiated from dorsum; dorsum in dorsal view weakly narrowing anteriorly; shoulder gently and roundly receding anteriorly; juncture between dorsal and lateral faces weakly and roundly raised; posterior margin weakly and arcuately emarginate ( Fig. 5D View FIGURE 5 ). Mesoscutum evenly and noticeably convex with posterolateral rim distinctly raised; parapsidal sulcus indistinct. Metapostnotum 0.3× as long as metanotum at midline; posterior margin arcuately emarginate. Propodeum length 1.0 × width, evenly convex with posterior declivity not differentiated from dorsum; disc hardly raised above level of metapostnotum.

Fore wing ( Fig. 5G View FIGURE 5 ) with pterostigma large, its length 2.1 × SMC2 length, its width 1.1 × SMC2 width. Marginal cell removed from wing tip by 0.56 × its length. SMC2 length 1.4 × width, narrowed on vein Rs by 0.80 × its own length on vein M, receiving crossvein 1m-cu at basal 0.57. SMC3 length 1.2 × width, 0.95 × SMC2 length on vein M, 0.5 × SMC2 length on vein Rs, narrowed on vein Rs by 0.4 × its own length on vein M, receiving crossvein 2m-cu at basal 0.2.

Meso- and metatibia with few minute spines laterally. Longer spur of hind tibia 0.53 × hind tarsomere I length. Claws symmetrical with indistinct subapical inner tooth.

Metasomal sternum VI with posterior margin arcuately emarginate medially ( Fig. 5I View FIGURE 5 ). Lateral hook on metasomal sternum VI straight and flattened, directed caudad ( Fig. 5I View FIGURE 5 ), tapering but rounded at apex ( Fig. 5J View FIGURE 5 ). SGP ( Figs 5K, 5L View FIGURE 5 ) abruptly narrowed subapically, truncate apically. Genitalia ( Fig. 5M View FIGURE 5 ): paramere large and extending far beyond apex of parapenial lobe with inconspicuous sparse setae laterally.

Etymology. The new species is named after Laos, the country where the holotype was collected.
