( Figures 11–13 View FIGURES 11 – 19. 11 – 13 , 119–123 View FIGURES 119 – 128. 119 – 123 , 295 View FIGURE 295 )

Sticholotis vietnamicus Hoàng, 1982: 92 .

Diagnosis. This species is very similar to S. crux Hoàng, 1982 in male genitalia, but can be distinguished from latter by its wide and entirely explanate lateral elytral margins ( Figs 11–13 View FIGURES 11 – 19. 11 – 13 ).

Description. TL: 2.31 mm, TW: 2.24 mm, TH: 1.35 mm, TL/TW: 1.03; PL/PW: 0.48; EL/EW: 0.88; HW/TW: 0.37; PW/TW: 0.59.

Head reddish brown, mouthparts yellowish brown. Dorsal surfaces uniformly red, venter reddish brown; body hemispherical, shiny and glabrous ( Figs 11–13 View FIGURES 11 – 19. 11 – 13 ). Head covered with fine but distinct punctures, 1.0–2.0 diameters apart, provided with short sparsely distributed setae. Interocular distance 0.56 x head width ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 11 – 19. 11 – 13 ).

Pronotum with fine and sparsely distributed punctures, 2.0–5.0 diameters apart. Lateral margin of elytra broad and entirely explanate. Elytral punctures very fine and shallow, slightly smaller than those on pronotum. Lateral margins of elytra wide, well visible from above.

Punctures on prosternum inconspicuous with scattered long setae. Mesoventral punctures inconspicuous. Metaventral disc with coarse and densely distributed punctures. Elytral epipleuron broad and complete to apex, slightly foveate to accommodate femoral tips of hind legs. Wings well-developed.

Male genitalia. Penis slender, basal capsule broad with small inner process, apex divided ( Figs 120–121 View FIGURES 119 – 128. 119 – 123 ); tegmen with penis guide in lateral view straight along most of its length, widest at base, gradually narrowing to apex, distinctly longer than parameres, with apex curved outwardly ( Fig. 122 View FIGURES 119 – 128. 119 – 123 ); penis guide in ventral view parallel along 4/5 of its length, then narrowing to apex ( Fig. 123 View FIGURES 119 – 128. 119 – 123 ); parameres slender.

Specimens examined. China, Yunnan: 1male, Jiluoshan, Xishuangbanna , [21°58.78′N, 101°7.79′E], ca 1020m, 28.iv.2008, Wang XM leg ( SCAU). GoogleMaps
