Material examined. MBC-A077742; MBC-A077743.

Identification. Test moderately high; apical disc large, evenly raised, all plates exsert, genital pores distally positioned; spines long, tapered, stout, with about 20 longitudinal ridges.

Global maximum size. Maximum test diameter 36 mm.

Global distribution. Endemic to South coast region of South Africa ( Clark & Courtman-Stock 1976); at 475– 900 m.

Remarks. Specimen identified through this study extends previously known distribution northwards towards Durban. Record also illustrates a 400 m depth extension from the previously known maximum depth of 500 m ( Döderlein 1910; Clark & Courtman-Stock 1976) to 900 m.
