Stenobrachius nannochir (Gilbert, 1890) View in CoL .
Garnet Lampfish. To 13.5 cm (5.3 in) TL ( Gorbatenko and Il’inskii 1992). Japan ( Wisner 1976, Shinohara et al. 1994), to southern Bering Sea (Mecklenburg et al. 2002), to Isla Guadalupe, central Baja California (Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California). Depth: surface to 3,400 m (11,152 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: Federov et al. 2003). A record of 4,939 m (16,200 ft) (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) was based on the maximum depth fished by a midwater trawl and may represent a catch shallower than the maximum depth.
