Diagnosis. Male ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 ). Small-sized (body length: 5.0–6.0 mm.) species with a robust and compact appearance ( Fig. 14A View FIGURE 14 ). Body black except for the preapical part of mandibles, pronotum, scutellum, postscutellum, propodeum, upper part of pleurae and external part of tegulae, which are red. Mandibles tridentate without an external tooth beneath. Clypeus concave, with a medial basal carina and dense punctures in the basal part; anterior border straight ( Fig. 14D View FIGURE 14 ). The apical surface of the clypeus appears almost shiny with very few punctures, while the basal surface has denser and smaller punctures. Head with parallel sides behind the eyes ( Fig. 14C View FIGURE 14 ). Ocelli small (POL/OOL = 1.1; OL:MOD:LOD = 1.0:0.5:0.5). Propodeum truncated, with a very pronounced slope, resembling two distinct surfaces, one horizontal and the other completely perpendicular to the previous one ( Fig. 14B, E View FIGURE 14 ). Wings hyaline, without a notable thickening in the radial vein. Metasoma pyriform ( Fig. 14A View FIGURE 14 ); T2 convex, 1.9 times wider than long. S1 with a longitudinal carina. Felt lines on the lateral sides of both T2 and S2. Distal fringes of sparse white-silvery pubescence on metasomal tergites. Genitalia is shown in Fig. 14F View FIGURE 14 . Female. Unknown.

Remarks. Despite the deterioration of the studied specimen, main distinctive features of the species remain clearly visible. We compared it with the original description of S. inermus and with photographs obtained from a specimen collected at the typical locality (Villecroze, France, A. Foucart coll.), revealing exact similarities. However, in contrast to the original description, which mentions the absence of a medial carina on the clypeus, the Spanish specimen exhibits a small one on the basal part, not very evident but present ( Fig. 14D View FIGURE 14 ). The apical surface of the clypeus appears almost shiny with very few punctures, while the basal surface has denser and smaller punctures. This specimen represents the first record of S. inermus in Spain, previously documented only in France. It constitutes the fourth Iberian Smicromyrme species belonging to Astomyrme Schwartz, 1984 subgenus.
