Diagnosis. Species of median to small size (4.0– 5.3 mm), distinguished by semi-erect, slender setae on elytra, pterygia almost obsolete, metatarsi robust with short onychium.

Distribution. South-eastern France and north-western Italy, recorded in France from Alpes Maritimes to Bouches du Rhône and in Italy from Liguria (type locality: “Gallia meridionalis”, southern France). Spanish literature records: Lérida: Urgel ( Iglesias Iglesias, 1922). Considering the western limit of the known distribution of this species in France, its presence in Spain is highly doubtful.
