TYPE LOCALITY: “ In Alpibus Insubriae [Insubrian (= Lombardy, Italy) Alps]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, lectotype (missing left fore-leg) ( MZUF: Box 8): Myopa Fab. / femoralis Rnd., Alpi / 421 / Lectotypus Sicus femoralis Rondani, 1865 , ♂, L. Rivosecchi & M. Mei des., 1998 / Myopa fasciata Meigen, 1804 , ♂, L. Rivosecchi & M. Mei det., 1998.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Chvála & Smith 1988: 270); junior synonym of Myopa fasciata Meigen, 1804 View in CoL ( Rivosecchi & Mei 1998: 275, Stuke 2017: 186).
REMARKS: Rondani (1865a: 146) described Sicus femoralis from just the male sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens. Rivosecchi & Mei (1998: 275) designated a lectotype (♂).
