Distribution and Habitat ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ): — Senecio antisanae occurs in the páramos of Ecuador, at elevations of 3000–3900 m.

Note: — Nordenstam (1999) suggests that S. decolor , S: iscoensis and S. rosanus could be synonyms of S. antisanae . Since those species share the shrub habit, elliptic-lanceolate leaves with dentate margin, reniform or rounded auricles, and capitula arranged in dense corymbiform cymes, we agree with Nordenstam (1999) and the species are here considered synonyms of S. antisanae .
