( Fig. 237)
Description. Forewings 2.0 times longer than wide, length about 5.4 mm. Colour stramineous to light brown, a stripe along frons, facial carinae and middle of pronotum orange. Forewings glassy, five irregular yellowish stripes across base, middle, and apical portion; a large black mark near hind margin divided by the bright red Cu1, Ms1a and accompanying cross-veins; in front of and distad of this mark two irregular-shaped red areas which sweep up Ms1a and Ms1b; central part of Ms2 also red; most remaining veins stramineous, but sections of M, Ms1, Cu1, Ms3, Sc and R orange; an orange mark at last subcostal sector. Hindwings colourless. Facial carinae contiguous at bases; in profile face slightly wider in front of subantennal processes; rostrum reaching post trochanter; subantennal processes and lateral carinae of pronotum well developed. Forewings with costal margin and apical section of Sc slightly curved; Sc+R fork slightly before middle of wing; basal median cell broad; M leaves Sc+R at first third of that cell; a crossvein connects Ms1a with M forming a trapezoid cell at base of Ms1. Pygofer of male genitalia with a pair of short, triangular lateral projections. Genital styles short, blunt at the end, proximal dorsal process triangular, distal dorsal process elongated. Apical part of aedeagus with two lobes, the right one wider and shorter.
Etymology. The species name refers to project Wallace (apparently named for Alfred Russel Wallace) during which the insect was collected and ' wallacei ' is a latinized noun used in the genitive case.
