Rhaphium neimengense sp. nov.

( Figs 6 , 18–19)

Diagnosis. First flagellomere 8.0 times longer than wide; arista black, 0.25 times as long as first flagellomere ( Fig. 18). 5 dc. All coxae yellow except mid coxa with light black spot. Cercus short and not bifurcated, with long pale apical bristles ( Fig. 19).

Description. Male ( Fig. 6 ). Body length 2.5–2.9 mm, wing length 2.6–2.8 mm. Head: Frons metallic green with grey white pollinosity; face dark metallic green with thick silvery white pollinosity; palpus and proboscis black with black hairs, palpus with 1 black bristle; bristles and hairs on head black except postocular bristles and posteroventral hairs pale yellow; antenna black; first flagellomere nearly isosceles triangular, somewhat elongated, rounded at tip, 8.0 times longer than wide; arista apical, simple, with microscopic hairs, 0.25 times as long as first flagellomere ( Fig. 18). Thorax metallic green with grey white pollinosity; propleuron covered by short pale yellow bristles; metapleuron yellowish brown at lower portion; hairs and bristles strong and black; 5 strong dc; 8 short uniseriate acr; median sc normal, lateral sc weak and short. Legs mainly yellow, all coxae yellow except mid coxa with light black spot, tarsi brown to dark brown from tip of tarsomere 1 onwards. Hairs and bristles on legs black, coxae with pale yellow hairs. Fore coxa with 2 outer bristles on apical 1/4, mid coxa with 2 outer bristles each at middle and preapical portion, hind coxa with 1 outer bristle at middle; bristles on coxae all black. Fore tibia with 1 ad, 1 pd and 2 apical bristles, all thin and weak; mid tibia with 3 ad, 2 pd, 1 pv and 4 apical bristles; hind tibia with 2 ad, 2–3 pd, 3 av and 3 apical bristles. Relative length ratio from tibia to tarsomere 5: LI: 3.0/1.5/0.6/0.5/0.2/0.3, LII: 4.0/1.5/0.6/?/?/?, LIII: 5.0/1.5/1.5/0.5/0.4/0.3 (mid tarsus broken). Wing hyaline, somewhat grey; veins dark brown, R4+5 and M somewhat convergent apically; CuAx ratio 0.4. Squama yellow, with fan of pale white bristles; halter yellow. Abdomen metallic green with grey white pollinosity. Bristles and hairs black. Segments 1–5 with 2 black apical bristles at middle dorsally, with pale yellow hairs laterally, sternites 1–4 with pale yellow hairs. Male genitalia ( Fig. 19): epandrium slightly longer than wide. Surstylus black, with 1 row of strong marginal bristles ventrally. Cercus nearly triangular, short, brown, with pale yellow marginal bristles, of which ventral half short, dorsal half very long, distinctly longer than epandrium. Hypandrium wide with 1 large blunt dorsal process at middle. Phallus simple. Female. Body length 2.7–3.2 mm, wing length 3.0– 3.1 mm. Similar to male, but first flagellomere short, nearly as long as wide.

Type material. HOLOTYPE, Ƌ labeled: China: Inner Mongolia, Daqinggou, Primeval forest (N42°82′18″ E122°17′41″), 180 m, collected by sweeping net in grass and brushes, 2014. VII.22, N. Wang & D. Yang ( CAU) . PARATYPES: 3 ♀, same data as holotype; 2 Ƌ , same locality as holotype, 2014. VII.23 ( CAU) ; 2 Ƌ, same locality as holotype, 2014. VIII.23, Y. Li ( CAU) ; 1 Ƌ, same locality as holotype, 2015. VII.8, S. Ding ( CAU) .

Distribution. Palaearctic: China (Inner Mongolia).

Remarks. The new species is somewhat similar to R. flavilabre Negrobov, 1979 from Russia, but may be separated from the latter by the length / width ratio of the first flagellomere and the amount of the acr. In R. flavilabre , the first flagellomere is 6.5 times longer than wide and thorax has 3–4 pairs of acr ( Negrobov 1979).

Etymology. The word ‘ neimeng ’ means Inner Mongolia in Chinese, refers to the type locality of the species.
