Habitat in Canada, Virginia. ♃
Radix fibrosa. Caulis strictus, dichotomus, spithamaeus, teres, filiformis, erectus. Herba lini cathartici. Folia opposita, lanceolato-ovata, integerrima, adspersa utrinque punctis fuscis. Stipulae geminae utrinque, acutae, membranaceae. Flores solitarii, subpedunculati, parvi, virides, ex singula dichotomia. Calyx quinquepartitus: foliolis obtusiusculis, subfornicatis. Petala nulla. Stamina 3, Antheris flavis. Germen subrotundum. Styli tres. Spontanea planta altior caule capillari; culta crassior & foliis minime punctatis.
