Ptocasius badongensis ( Song & Chai, 1992) View in CoL ( Figs 15A–B View FIGURE 15 , 16 View FIGURE 16 , 17A–F View FIGURE 17 )

Yaginumaella nanyuensis Xie & Peng, 1995: 291 View in CoL , figs 9–12 (♀); Yin et al., 2012: 1503, figs 822a–c (♀); Song et al., 1999: 563, fig. 323E (♀); Peng, 2020: 499, figs 369a–c (♀).
Ptocasius nanyuensis : Patoleta et al., 2020: 17 (transferred from Yaginumaella ). syn. nov.
Type material of Ptocasius badongensis . Holotype ♀ ( IZCAS-Ar9264 ), China, Hubei Province, Badong County, 27.V.1989, examined.
Type material of Ptocasius nanyuensis . Holotype ♀, China, Hunan Province, Nanyue , 1978, Changmin Yin leg. Type specimen deposited in Hunan Biology Research Institute, not examined.
Diagnosis. Females of this species are similar to Ptocasius montanus ( Żabka, 1981) ( Żabka 1981: figs 46, 47) and Ptocasius nobilis ( Żabka, 1981) ( Żabka 1981: figs 48, 49) by the length between hoods almost two times of hood width. However, this species can be distinguished by the coiled duct inside spermathecae.
Redescription. Female (holotype): Measurements see Song and Chai (1992).
Coloration ( Figs 17A, B View FIGURE 17 ): Carapace yellow to brown, edge and middle yellow-brown, black rings around eyes. Clypeus brown with sparse hairs. Fovea longitudinal. Chelicerae and endites yellow-brown, labium and sternum pale yellow. Legs pale yellow, metatarsi and tarsi covered with sparse setae, more obvious in metatarsi and tarsi. Opisthosoma almost oval, pale yellow with brown pattern, with sparse hairs. Spinnerets yellow-brown.
Epigyne ( Figs 15A, B View FIGURE 15 , 16 View FIGURE 16 ): Epigynal plate oval, with a pair of hoods medially, the length between hoods almost two times of hood width. Copulatory openings located anteriorly, with length between copulatory openings almost as wide as copulatory opening width. Copulatory ducts L-shaped, connecting with posterior part of ental sides of spermathecae. Spermathecae oval, ental ducts coiled.
Male. Unknown.
Distribution. China (Hubei, Hunan).
Comments. The type material of Ptocasius badongensis was examined, and based on the clear figures in Xie and Peng (1995: figs 9–12), no difference between P. badongensis and P. nanyuensis was observed. Thus, we consider P. nanyuensis to be a junior synonym of P. badongensis .
