Pseudopodospermum hispanicum View in CoL (L.) Zaika, Sukhor. & N.Kilian in Zaika et al. (2020: 68) subsp. hispanicum ≡
Scorzonera hispanica Linnaeus (1753: 791) subsp. hispanica View in CoL
Type (lectotype designated by Díaz de la Guardia & Blanca 1987: 302):—Herb. Linn. No. 947.3 ( LINN!, image available at http://linnean-online.org/9563/).
Protologue citation:—“Habitat in Hispania, Sibiria”.
Pseudopodospermum hispanicum ( L.) Zaika, Sukhor. & N.Kilian subsp. asphodeloides (Wallr.) Bartolucci, Galasso & Conti , comb. nov. ≡ Scorzonera hispanica L. var. asphodeloides Wallroth (1815: 95) ≡ Scorzonera hispanica L. subsp. asphodeloides (Wallr.) Arcangeli (1882: 421)
Type:—not designated.
Protologue citation:—“Tres has varietates in eodem loco, in dumetis sylvaticis collinis ad Schmon et Lodersleben legi, ubi jam a

Pseudopodospermum hispanicum ( L.) Zaika, Sukhor. & N.Kilian subsp. neapolitanum (Grande) Bartolucci, Galasso & F.Conti , comb. nov. ≡ Scorzonera neapolitana Grande (1920: 239) ≡ Scorzonera hispanica L. subsp. neapolitana (Grande) Greuter (2003: 236)
– Scorzonera trachysperma sensu Gussone (after 4 June 1826: 319), non Günther ex Sprengel (January–March 1826: 666)
Type (lectotype, designated here):— ITALY. Calabria sotto Cassano, May 1824, [Gussone] ( NAP!, Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ).
Protologue citation:—“ Calabriae orientalis : Capo Bruzzano, Capo Colonna, Crotone, var. c [ var. undulata ], Cassano, Lauropoli,
Amendolara”.
≡ Scorzonera trachysperma Günther ex Sprengel (1826: 666) var. undulata Gussone (1826: 319) View in CoL
Type (lectotype, designated here):— ITALY. Calabria sotto Cassano, May 1824, [Gussone] ( NAP!, Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ).
Protologue citation:—“Cassano, Lauropoli, Amendolara”.
Nomenclatural notes:— Gussone (1826) doubtfully referred the plants from Calabria to S. trachysperma (“ S. trachysperma Günth. ?”, “Günth. ex Spr. s. veg. 3. p. 666”), providing a detailed description and describing two varieties, b. pubescens and c. undulata . Scorzonera neapolitana Grande (1920) was published as intended replacement name for S. trachysperma sensu Guss. , non Günther ex Spreng. but, according to Art. 41 Note 3 of the ICN, it is a new species validated by Gussone’s description of the taxon to which he misapplied the name S. trachysperma . According to Art. 7.8 of the ICN, S. neapolitana is here typified by an element selected from the entire context of Gussone’s description. The specimen here selected as the lectotype of S. neapolitana Grande is the same here selected for S. trachysperma var. undulata Guss. , so that these names become homotypic synonyms after typification.
