Type material. CHINA, Hunan Province: Holotype female from Zhangjiajie City, Sangzhi County, Tianpingshan Forest Farm , Davidia involucrata Garden , 29.78°N, 110.09°E, 1401 m, 20 June 2017, Y. Zhong & Y. Zhu leg. ( CBEE, LJ05075 ). GoogleMaps
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the type locality, the Sangzhi County; adjective.
Diagnosis. The female of P.sangzhiensis Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. differs from those of other Pseudopoda members by the unusual arrangement of the sclerotised sub-spherical sclerotised part of the IDS.
FEMALE (LJ05075): Measurements: Small sized. Body length 7.8, DS length 3.6, width 3.4, OS length 4.2, width 2.6. Eyes: AME 0.13, ALE 0.22, PME 0.15, PLE 0.18, AME–AME 0.16, AME–ALE 0.09, PME–PME 0.23, PME–PLE 0.34, AME–PME 0.29, ALE–PLE 0.26, CH AME 0.41, CH ALE 0.33. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2121, 1014; Fe I–II 323, III 322, IV 331; Pa I–III 101, IV 000; Ti I–II 2228, III–IV 2126; Mt I–II 3034, III–IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 4.4 (1.2, 0.6, 0.9, –, 1.7); I 11.1 (3.3, 1.2, 3.1, 2.4, 1.1); II 14.7 (3.8, 1.5, 4.7, 3.4, 1.3); III 9.6 (2.9, 1.1, 2.6, 2.0, 1.0); IV 11.7 (3.5, 0.8, 3.0, 3.2, 1.2). Leg formula: II-IV-I-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 25 denticles.
Epigyne ( Figs 214A–C View FIGURE 214 ): As in diagnosis. EF wider than long. Spherical parts of IDS extending transversally, forming a semicircle, swollen apical part with distinct glandular pores.
Colouration ( Figs 215A–B View FIGURE 215 ): DS yellow with dark pattern in three elements: a median band consisting of irregular marbled pattern, two distinctly curved lateral bands with few dots along striae, and narrow but distinct marginal bands running in the thoracic part. OS dorsally creamy white with reddish-brown patches, anteriorly paired, farther posterior fused to transverse patches, laterally spotted, ventrally light yellow with silvery white gunaine crystals.
